The Unexpected, A Recipe for the Heart
Chemistry: Excellent Relationship: Friends Work Again: Neutral Kwan is a ship-jumper from ATV. Her coming to TVB made her a household name. Famous in Lady Flower Fist and continuously pulled off impressive performances in her latter works. But Kwan left TVB in 2001 due to financial problems, and currently is doing well in Mainland China. Maggie's dual performance with Kwan in the Unexpected is forgettable, but their performances in A Recipe for the Heart is a laughing roller-coaster ride that's worth all the money to rent the series. The Unexpected There are little scenes with Maggie and Kwan together. But if you love seeing Maggie slapping other people, catch this one. In fact, Maggie was instructed to slap Kwan real hard so that the camera can get Kwan's red cheek. A Recipe for the Heart Unlike The Unexpected, Kwan and Maggie are friendly in this series. Too friendly. Maggie dresses up as a man to pretend he's Kwan's boyfriend, an effort to make Kwan's real love interest to get jealous. There are scenes where Kwan has to sit on Maggie's lap and kiss Maggie on the lips. These scenes alone can be quite amusing, but with the natural acting talents by both artists, such scenes are masterpiece!
