Elaine Ng Yi LeiCollaboration(s): To Catch A Thief
Chemistry: Very Good
Relationship: Friends, godmothered her daughter
Work Again: Neutral

Ng won the champion title of Miss Asia in 1990 at the shy age of 17. The 5-foot-10 Shanghai born, Canada raised girl had little acting experience nor does she have any kinship with the showbiz. Ng left the showbiz in 1992 to do business. In 1998, Ng returned to the showbiz and joined TVB. Her luck came in all of a sudden as she was assigned to play Fong Fong, replacing Jessica Hsuan, in the sequel of Old Time Buddy, namely To Catch A Thief. She became instant friends with Maggie and fellow co-star Gordon Lam Ka Tung. The world thinks Ng a perfect girl: tall, beautiful, smart (she has very high IQ), but when Maggie or Lam speaks of Ng, they can't help but complain about Ng's low self-esteem and image conscious style. People who understand Ng knows Ng does not mind. Maggie and Lam often jokes about Ng and dubbed her the "Broken Mirror Queen". But all that did not matter, their friendship is very tight. While Ng was on her way to stardom despite criticisms on her acting among the audience, her affair with Jackie Chan have ruined her career. The affair ended before Ng's career was in jeopardy, but Ng was with child when it all came out to the open. She embarrassedly admitted to Dodo Cheng on national TV that the unborn child is fathered by Jackie Chan. Half of the world who supported Chan turned against her. The poor girl is supported most by the two people who spoke of her flaws, Maggie and Gordon Lam. With other friends backing her up, they are still incomparable to Jackie Chan's empire of powerful friends. Maggie and Lam, who knew all about Ng's affair and pregnancy, were the first few people Ng ran to when she found out she was with child, later became the child's godparents. They never stop supporting Ng. Nonetheless, Ng's career is dead. Ng's attempts to become a news anchor and even a writer did not stop the media from exploiting her daughter. Furthermore, because Ng did not ask for Chan's financial or emotional support, she needed to take up all the jobs she can to support the child. Subsequently, she ended her acting career and moved to Mainland China where she can keep a low profile life in order to raise her daughter without the affect of the media. It's a lost as Maggie's co-star because Ng was great with Maggie despite that her acting is a bit stiff. There is no words on whether or not Ng will return to acting when her daughter is grown, but at least in the end Ng did the right thing by sacrificing her career to give her daughter a normal life.
To Catch A Thief
Maggie and Ng are good friends in this series. Ng is the clever one, but has a low self-esteem. While Maggie is the naive one who knows what herself is worth. Ng's acting is not very good, yet her chemistry with Maggie is well worth mentioning.
